Time to say goodbye. Or maybe not.

It’s odd. We may be good or bad at meeting people but most of us are universally terrible at saying goodbyes. I head that league with full honours. For the simple reason that, for me, an end and a beginning have no boundaries. And the people you have been with, the people who are important to you always always remain with you.

By the same logic those who are not important may be in your line of vision daily and yet not in your heads and in your hearts. Simply said, you just carry the people you are close to you with you forever, when you say goodbye. For those who have been part of my life in recent times, here’s a beautiful song that quite says what I want to.

Time to say good bye is classified as Operatic Pop. It was originally written in Spanish as Con Te Partiro – Translated it means I will leave with you.

The English title came later. Time to say good bye replaced Con te partiro. And the reason why I share this song is exactly this.

The song is not about saying goodbye. Only the English title makes it sound like that.

It’s about going away with someone, sailing new seas, exploring new horizons, reaching new destinations, seeing new places.

Think! How much more beautiful is “I will go with you” than the sadness of “time to say goodbye”?. It’s the difference between meeting and parting. It’s coming together versus separating. It’s attachment versus estrangement. Hope against despair.

In leaving, I’d like to say this. I wish each one I leave behind has a chance to sail new seas, do new things, explore new avenues. And if it is goodbye, it’s goodbye to all the things that you want to leave behind as you sail forth into newer territories in life.

Because for me and you it’s not time to say goodbye it’s con te partiro!
